These are sacred to me for a lot of reasons so I always try to keep em around. The following is just a lite simple syrup with a 4/1 ratio of sugar to water. It’s that simple.
Boil 4 cups of water, dissolve 1 cup of refined sugar and cool it in the fridge.
Do not add red dye!!! That shit is poisonous to hummingbirds.
Make sure that you thoroughly wash your feeder before using it and you don’t need to use much food since you should clean the feeder ever two days. If not, it can get nasty fast and make the hummingbirds sick.
